Fashion for Rescue Dogs with The Rescue Runway
Fur the love of rescue dogs
Recently, I was lucky enough to team up with Christine of The Rescue Runway to go hang out with some dogs at Anti-Cruelty and shoot some outfits with them. Yep, rescue dogs and fashion. Basically my dream come true. And that’s Christine’s entire blog concept! Helping rescue dogs find homes through fashion. It’s kind of amazing. I highly recommend checking her out ASAP. And in the meantime, check out these adorable babies!
Chuck | 70 Pounds of Lap Dog
The first pup we met was Chuck. Chuck is a big ol’ shepherd mix who’s around 4 years old and, even at 70 pounds, wants to lay in your lap forever. He was so incredibly sweet and just adored being doted upon. Unfortunately, this guy has some resource guarding challenges when it comes to his food. He gets along with other dogs but he’d definitely need some training to work on sharing. But he’s so sweet! I have such a soft spot for giant lap dogs so this guy won my heart immediately. He’s so cuddly!
Cookie | So sweet she doesn’t need a sugary name
The second dog we got to meet that day is one who has been on my mind since I met her. I’d like everyone to meet Cookie, a 5 year old pit bull who is such a mush I can’t even handle it. She’s me in dog form. Insanely curious, doesn’t like cats, very little patience for puppies, ready to love and excited with that love. She’s skinny in a way that makes me think of Zoe when we brought her home. I felt this deep need to curl up on a couch with her and cuddle but also go for really long runs. She’s incredibly eager to please and wants to make someone happy. Her fur and coloring? She’s gorgeous! I’ve never seen a pit with her coloring. And she’s soft, too.
Seriously, the last time I fell this in love with a dog, we adopted Tonks. If I could take on a third dog, she would have been home with us already.
This is not a moment, it’s the movement
I do need to take a second to talk about the clothes we’re wearing. Our goal was to go casual for this look. Christine’s rocking that graphic t with sweet track pants and sneaks. And I’m STILL obsessed with my look.
The tank was picked up from C2E2 from The Colorful Geek. She’s an amazing person and creates the best fandom tees, tanks, and more! I’ve been on a Hamilton kick lately and this top seemed 100% perfect for how I feel about rescues.
Sweater is from Fabrik – Wicker Park. They have some of the best pieces for every season from basics to statements and all the accessories you’re going to need. If you’re local and head there, tell them Dannie from Stile.Foto.Cibo sent you. [P.S. they’re dog friendly! Bring your rescue dogs.]
But for real, if any of my readers adopt Cookie, hit me up and I will 100% come help with her transition and training and anything else you need. Any way I can have this girl in my life.
