Seattle Restaurants | Wife Life
When travel happens with your wife, she’s bound to want to share part of her trip as well! It’s been a while since I shared a Wife Life post. So here’s a bit from Ari about our adventure to Seattle.
Seattle has some of the best restaurants of any vacation city I’ve ever been to (Sorry Boston). Not only is the seafood fresh, the veggies farm-to-table, and the wine local, every single server was amazing with my food allergies. It was heaven on earth. We probably ate our weight in seafood and I’m not even a little bit sorry, because we also blew our step goals out of the water every single day.
A typical day on our Seattle trip. Get up, eat an apple, and walk up the steep hill from our AirBnB to some brunch spot. Indulge in amazing coffee, vegan pancakes, and of course a mimosa. Continue trekking up the hill until we get to whatever touristy event we have planned. We shopped the Pike Place Market (and sampled lots of amazing food), we wandered Pioneer Square, we had coffee at the original Starbucks. Then, we stop at whatever restaurant caught our eye in our morning wandering for a light lunch, probably seafood, before heading off on another adventure. By the time we think of dinner, we’ve both hit 10k steps. Then we’re ready to tuck into a giant burger and beer or some other amazing local place. Then stumble back to our AirBnB and crash. Along the way, take a million photos and drink about 5 cups of local coffee (we tried as many places as we could!).
Combat Boots Go with Everything
And of course we were dressed to the 9’s. Well, Dannie was. I preferred to rock this Old Navy Sundress with an old cardigan and a pair of combat boot. Yes, combat boots. You all know I’m fairly femme but I have my moments, and in those moments, I match combat boots with eyelet sundresses. Fight me.
I have always had an obsession with the perfect yellow sundress for summer, I don’t know why, but it has always been the biggest hole in my closet. I used to own one that was white with big yellow flowers but it fit funny and my attempts at tailoring it ended badly. So I’m always on the lookout for one that’s just perfect.
Ta da! Old Navy to the rescue. Ask any of my friends and they’ll agree that I’ve recently become obsessed with them because I can wear their regular AND plus sizes. (They have a few sizes that overlap and I’m right in the middle) Plus, their men’s button downs fit me perfectly, so I can shop the whole store. It was chilly and we definitely got a couple comments along the lines of “aren’t you cold?” but we’re from Chicago! 60 is positively balmy!
I love sharing bits of life from the perspective of my wife with you guys. Thanks for reading along!
